PIONEER
redesign overview
Pioneer Scientific, a lab equipment e-commerce website, had a problem: the team of developers they hired to design their website had little knowledge of user experience design. The result was an online lab equipment store that was frustrating for shoppers to use and that needed changing ASAP in order for the business to thrive.
challenges
There were a few hurdles meeting users upon their visit to Pioneer Scientific. Many of the links linked to nowhere. The site was hosted on an unsecured network, and users were left with almost no user options, those of which are considered standard for e-commerce websites today (i.e., prominent search bar, wish list, product reviews, and a user account or profile, just to name a few).
solutions
I addressed all of the issues mentioned above and installed a new navigation scheme, taking inspiration from some of the biggest online retailers today, other e-commerce lab equipment companies, and from best e-commerce UX practices.
